BLACKPINK’s agency asks police to investigate leaked private photos of group member Jennie

  • South Korean entertainment agency YG Entertainment made an official statement on Monday to threaten legal action against those who spread the private photos of BLACKPINK’s Jennie. 
  • The statement revealed that the agency has filed a complaint for defamation and has requested a police investigation into the leaks. 
  • They reminded online users that sharing private photos is grounds for legal action.
  • Their statement comes weeks after several images that seemingly show Jennie and BTS’ V started circulating online.

On Monday, BLACKPINK’s management agency YG Entertainment released a statement announcing that legal action will be taken against those who leak and distribute private photos of group member Jennie.

The statement revealed that the company requested a police investigation into those responsible for the “indiscriminate rumors, criticism, personal attacks, sexual harassment and violations of personal life sparked by those private photographs.”

To achieve the Billboard milestone, BLACKPINK’s second studio album reached 102,000 equivalent album units in the U.S. last week. This makes BLACKPINK the first girl group to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in any country since 2008’s Danity Kane with “Welcome to the Dollhouse.”

“Shut Down” utilizes a sample of the violin solo “La campanella” by Italian composer Niccolò Paganini. The song’s music video, which YG Entertainment has called their most expensive one to date, is packed with references to BLACKPINK’s past music videos.

  • A Vietnamese girl group called DREAMeR is being accused of plagiarizing K-pop group BLACKPINK.
  • DREAMeR’s teaser poster has black and pink colors as well as two pink lightning bolts coming down from the top, similar to BLACKPINK’s world tour announcement poster.
  • Two members of DREAMeR have teaser images that seemingly copy Lisa’s “Pink Venom” teaser image and Rosé’s “On The Ground” solo images respectively, down to similar outfits, hair styling and visual effects.
  • “Born Pink” will be released on Friday and is the YG Entertainment girl group’s second studio-length album following 2020’s “The Album.”

Vietnamese girl group DREAMeR are “playing with fire” following plagiarism accusations by BLACKPINK fans.  

Netizens noticed the posts from the rookie Vietnamese girl group on September 14. One image of the group’s comeback shows similarity to BLACKPINK’s “Born Pink” world tour announcement poster. DREAMeR’s image shows pink, protruding lightning bolts coming down from the top of the image, while BLACKPINK’s uses pink fangs.  

Alleged leak of Bella Poarch’s ‘Build A B*tch’ remix with BLACKPINK’s Rosé goes viral

  • An alleged leak of Bella Poarch’s “Build A B*tch” remix featuring BLACKPINK’s Rosé has gone viral.
  • The leak features verses purportedly written by Rosé and her vocals on the chorus, which remains the same.
  • Fans pieced together that Rosé met Poarch and “Build A B*tch” co-writer Salem Ilese last year in Los Angeles.
  • Rosé has a songwriting credit with fellow member Jisoo on the song “Yeah Yeah Yeah” from their anticipated album “Born Pink,” which is slated for release on Sep. 16.

BLACKPINK fans are clamoring for more from songwriter Rosé after an alleged audio leak of the K-pop singer featuring on a remix of Bella Poarch’s “Build A B*tch” went viral.

The leaked audio appeared online Thursday and reportedly comes from multiple sources: an Instagram account called “unseenyge” and an email from an account called “leakerbello,” who emailed the audio snippet to a Turkish BLACKPINK fanbase. The email apparently was sent last year but ended up in the spam folder and was not seen until now.

Following the reveal of their title track “Shut Down” on Tuesday, the album’s full tracklist was announced via BLACKPINK’s social media accounts on Wednesday.

  • BLINKS pointed out various moments in their defense, such as Lisa fixing her mic, Jennie shouting “Let’s go!” and the sounds of mics crackling.
  • Regardless of the performance, BLACKPINK and fellow K-pop acts BTS, SEVENTEEN and Lisa made historic wins that night.
  • BLACKPINK’s upcoming album, “Born Pink,” drops on Sep. 16. Their  world tour will start in October.

After their U.S. award show performance debut, the superstar quartet won an award for “Best Metaverse Performance” for their virtual concert and their music video for “Ready For Love,” both of which were collaborations with PUBG Mobile.

  • Group member Lisa is also nominated for an award this year for best K-pop for her solo song “Lalisa,” making her the first Korean soloist and first female K-pop idol to be nominated.
