Jennie has launched her own fashion company this week, marking the beginning of her “solo journey in 2024.”
About the brand: Established last month, the company, known as Odd Atelier (OA), will be “a space that aims to create new things that attract attention in a different way from what is usual or expected,” it said in an Instagram post. The announcement comes after all four Blackpink members renewed their exclusive contract with YG Entertainment earlier this month.
Odd Atelier’s Instagram page has amassed 1.3 million followers since its announcement. So far, it has featured black-and-white photos of Jennie in a collared shirt, a mini dress and a hoodie bearing the brand’s logo.
What she’s saying: Jennie first broke the news on her own Instagram Stories on Sunday.
“This year was filled with many accomplishments, and I’m so thankful for all the love I’ve received,” wrote the 27-year-old K-pop star. “I’m also about what’s to come, as I start my solo journey in 2024 with a company that I have established called OA. Please show lots of love for my new start with OA and of course BLACKPINK.”
What fans are saying: Fans have congratulated Jennie for the launch of her brand. Many have begun calling her “CEO Jennie,” though it has not been confirmed whether she would assume the role.
“Congratulations Jennie, I will support you in this new journey you’re going through and so will all the Blinks,” wrote one Instagram user, referring to Blackpink’s fans.
Another noted, “Always remember that there are millions of people who trust and love you and who are willing to support you in every step of your journey.”
