‘You will be my miracle’: Singaporean woman with stage 4 cancer delays urgent treatment in order to save her unborn daughter

  • TikTok user Missquraishani, 29, shared in a post on Sunday that she was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer and advised to terminate her pregnancy so that treatment could begin.
  • She shared that they were surprised to learn about her pregnancy in January as she had been on birth control for the past two years.
  • Doctors reportedly told her that "the prognosis is not good" and she would have "months to one year" left to live.
  • "I cried so hard I question so many why [sic], but eventually I told myself it's meant to happen, you were meant to happen, so why should I terminate you," she added. "No — I was meant to have you. Because of you, I found out I have cancer. You were meant to survive, you will be my miracle."
  • One TikTok commenter revealed that she had gone through a similar experience, but was forced to terminate her pregnancy so she could undergo chemotherapy for her lymphoma.

  • He shared at the time that he would be wearing the 16-pound pregnancy belly to party meetings, parliamentary activities and to personal events.
  • The former banking official also acknowledged the shortcomings of his experiment, conceding that “There is no way you can understand a 10-month pregnancy period in just two days.”

Chinese company fined for firing pregnant worker who napped during forced overnight shifts

  • A company has been fined $7,650 for the unlawful dismissal of a pregnant woman who fell asleep during her overnight shifts.
  • The woman, Xiaoyi, was fired in June 2019 for falling asleep four times for a duration of six to 28 minutes between 4 a.m. and 5 a.m. after the company moved the pregnant employee to a nightshift.
  • Xiaoyi, who had been working with the company for seven years, did not receive compensation after her dismissal, prompting her to file a complaint ordering that the company pay her around $7,650.

An arbitration court has fined a Chinese company $7,650 for unlawfully firing a pregnant woman after she repeatedly fell asleep during overnight shifts.

The woman, Xiaoyi, who was on parking duty, was fired by her managers in June 2019 after the company, whose name was not disclosed by the Intermediate People’s Court in Zhuhai, had determined that she had violated the company’s rules by falling asleep four times for six to 28 minutes at a time, reported South China Morning Post.
