Pikachu, which looks something like a cross between a mouse and a rabbit, has always been put in the “mouse” category in the Pokédex, the digital encyclopedia for Pokémon. However, Pikachu’s creator has confirmed that it’s neither a mouse nor a rabbit. So which is it?

Legendary artist Atsuko Nishida, who designed Pikachu and a number of creatures in the “Pokémon” franchise for game developer Game Freak, previously revealed that she based Pikachu’s original design concept on a squirrel, according to SVG.

The Pokémon series takes a whole new – and very dark – path in this new parody trailer from Adi Shankar, the executive producer of Netflix’s “Castlevania,” titled “The End of Pokémon.”

“The End of Pokémon,” directed by Luis Pelayo Junquera and Enol Junquera, was animated by Angry Metal Studios, the studio that is also behind Shankar’s other “bootleg universe” entries, specifically for “The Punisher” and “Dredd,” according to Polygon. It was released by animation network Octopie.

Justice Smith Cast as Lead in Live-Action ‘Detective Pikachu’ Film

The upcoming live-action Pokémon movie, “Detective Pikachu”, has found its leading star in Justice Smith, who is known for his role as Ezekiel ‘Books’ Figuero in Netflix’s “The Get Down”.

Directed by Rob Letterman, the new Pokémon project from Legendary Entertainment is the first in a series that will be based on the Nintendo 3DS game “Meitantei Pikachu: Shin Konbi Tanjyou”, or “Great Detective Pikachu: The Birth of a New Duo”, which was released exclusively in Japan on Feb. 3, 2016.

Man in Pikachu Costume Arrested After Trying to Jump Over White House Fence for YouTube Fame

A man from Somerset, Kentucky was recently arrested for jumping over a restricted area at the White House while wearing a Pikachu costume — all for YouTube fame.

Curtis Combs, 36, was arrested last Tuesday around 9:35 a.m. for jumping over the south side of “The People’s House”, between the South Lawn and Ellipse. A Secret Service agent ordered him to stop climbing the fence, which was marked with “Restricted Area Do Not Enter,” Washington Examiner reported.
