Two police officers were killed after a tenant facing eviction opened fire on them on Sunday in Honolulu.
The gunman, identified as 69-year-old Jaroslav Hanel, reportedly set fire to the bungalow where he had been staying, reports the New York Times.
A woman who runs a boarding house for exchange students in Honolulu has been charged with sexually assaulting a 16-year-old from Japan.
Rika Shimizu, 36, was charged with five counts of second-degree sexual assault and four counts of fourth-degree sexual assault by the grand jury, according to the Honolulu Star Advertiser.
Honolulu just imposed a strict rule allowing police to fine pedestrians up to $35 for the first offense if they are caught checking their phone while crossing the streets in the city and nearby county.
However, after the second offense, the fine would go as high as $75, and $99 for the third offense.
