Razer is Investing $10 Million in Singapore’s Esports Community


Razer, a global gaming and hardware manufacturing giant, is committing $10 million over the next 12 months to fund the esports gaming community in Singapore.

In a statement made on Facebook, Razer’s Chief Executive Officer Min-Liang Tan says that Team Singapore will receive part of the funding as the esports team heads to this year’s Southeast Asian Games, which will take place in the Philippines later this year.

A thief broke into Adela Courteille’s Francis Street home in the coastal suburb of Dee Why in northern Sydney last early Thursday morning, according to The Daily Telegraph. The unnamed suspect reportedly took many items from the family’s house, including credit cards, tools, a laptop, and the presents of Courteille’s two children, 12-year-old Callum and 18-month-old Chelsea.

Razer CEO Gives Fan Free Phone After Getting Permanent Tattoo of His Face

One fan of Singapore-based tech manufacturer Razer stood by his promise last month when he messaged the company’s founder Min-Liang Tan about getting a permanent tattoo of his face on his leg in exchange for a free Razer Phone.

On Nov. 25, Tan received a comment on his Facebook account from a 28-year-old man named Matt Connelly with the message, “can I tattoo your face on me in exchange for a razer phone?”

Razer’s investors now include some of the biggest names in Asia such as Indonesian tobacco tycoon Budi Hartono, Chinese philanthropist Li Ka-Shing and Singapore’s Temasek Holdings. According to Today, Tan’s latest company fund-raising earned the Razer CEO a net worth of over $1.2 billion.
