“Crazy Rich Asians” stars Constance Wu and Akwafina held a mini-reunion during the 1,000th performance celebration for the off-Broadway classic “Little Shop of Horrors” on Sunday.
Two-person reunion: Wu, 41, posed with her “Crazy Rich Asians” co-star Awkwafina, whose real name is Nora Lum, 35, on the red carpet at Bryant Park Grill in New York City on Sunday.
The event was to celebrate the 1,000th performance of the “Little Shop of Horrors” revival, where Wu plays the female lead, Audrey, with Corbin Bleu, 34, playing her partner, Seymour.

The other attendees: Other stars who attended the Sunday celebration include Akwafina’s “Nora from Queens” co-star Lori Tan Chinn, American author Jenny Han and British actor Chike Okonkwo.
About the play: “Little Shop of Horrors,” which first premiered in New York City in 1982 before it moved to off-Broadway’s Orpheum Theater, follows the story of down-on-his-luck florist Seymour as he tries to turn his boss’ plant shop business around. When Seymour discovers a rare and voracious plant, he names it after his co-worker and crush Audrey.
Their excitement: Wu and Bleu expressed their mutual excitement after the news of their casting was announced in late August. Wu said “Little Shop of Horrors” became her favorite musical after she “first saw a community production growing up in Richmond, Virginia.”
Working together: Wu and Awkwafina worked together in the hit 2018 romance-comedy movie “Crazy Rich Asians.” Wu revealed in June 2022 that the “wheels are moving” for the film’s sequel.
