An all-Asian ensemble cast has been announced for the upcoming indie romantic comedy “Worth the Wait.”
The cast: Lana Condor (To All the Boys” franchise), Andrew Koji (“Bullet Train“), Ross Butler (“Shazam! Fury of the Gods“), Sung Kang (“Fast and Furious” franchise) and Élodie Yung (“The Cleaning Lady”) are some of the names starring in the project. They will be joined by other actors such as Osric Chau, Karena Lam, Ali Fumiko Whitney, Ricky He, Kheng Hua Tan and Yu-Beng Lim.
About the film: Set in Seattle and Kuala Lumpur, “Worth the Wait” centers around the various lives and relationships of characters portrayed by the ensemble cast. The movie marks the U.S. directorial debut of Taiwanese filmmaker Tom Shu-Yu Lin, whose previous projects include “The Garden of Evening Mists.”
“After 15 years of directing in Asia, I’m thrilled to make my first U.S. film with such incredibly talented actors and accomplished fellow filmmakers,” Lin told Deadline. “Growing up in both the U.S. and Taiwan, the American side of my upbringing has always been a huge part of who I am, and I am so excited to finally be able to showcase that with ‘Worth The Wait.'”
Other key details: Production recently wrapped in Kuala Lumpur and Vancouver. A release date has yet to be announced.
Future projects: Some of the film’s cast members’ upcoming projects include Condor in the animated flick “Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken” and action-thriller “Ballerina Overdrive,” Butler in Paramount+ film “Love in Taipei” and Koji reprising his role as Ah Sahm in the third season of Max’s “Warrior.”
