Universal Pictures shared a new trailer for the upcoming film “Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken,” on Wednesday.
The Kirk DeMicco-led film, produced by DreamWorks Animation and distributed by Universal Pictures, was written by Pam Brady, Brian C. Brown and Elliott DiGuiseppi.
“This summer, DreamWorks Animation dives into the turbulent waters of high school with a hilarious, heartfelt action comedy about a shy teenager who discovers that she’s part of a legendary royal lineage of mythical sea krakens and that her destiny, in the depths of the oceans, is bigger than she ever dreamed,” the film’s official website states.
“To All the Boys” star Lana Condor notably voices Ruby, a “sweet, awkward 16-year-old … [who] is desperate to fit in at Oceanside High.”
In addition to Condor, the film’s cast includes “Never Have I Ever” actor Ramona Young, Toni Collette, Annie Murphy, Sam Richardson, Liza Koshy, Will Forte, Colman Domingo, Jaboukie Young-White, Blue Chapman, Eduardo Franco, Echo Kellum, Nicole Byer and Jane Fonda.
“Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken” will premiere at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival on June 15 before hitting cinemas on June 30. Check out its new trailer below:
