A female reporter for the state-owned China Central Television (CCTV) was a‌rr‌est‌ed for a‌ss a‌u‌lt after making a scene and sl‌ap‌pin‌g a volunteer at a U.K. conference on Hong Kong autonomy.

The conference, held in Birmingham on Sunday, was co-hosted by the U.K.’s Conservative Party Human Rights Commission and London-based NGO Hong Kong Watch.

A councilor of the English town of Earby has been suspended by the Conservative Party in England after allegedly sharing a highly offensive and racist Facebook post.

Rosemary Carroll, who was also the former Mayor of Pendle, posted a tasteless “joke” about a man who was seeking benefits for his pet dog and when turned down, used racial stereotypes to compare the animal to people who were getting benefits but can’t speak English.

Singaporean Grandma Faces Deportation Despite Living in the U.K. for 27 Years

A Singaporean woman married to a Briton who has lived in the U.K. for more than 27 years faces deportation after she stumbled on problems regarding her status.

Irene Clennell, 53, who is originally from Singapore, was detained at an immigration removal center in Lanarkshire, United Kingdom after her application to stay in the country was repeatedly rejected. She was brought to the Dungavel House and detained because she had failed to make arrangements to go back to Singapore.
