South Korean alt-rock singer LØREN released his debut EP “Put Up a Fight” on Friday.
The 28-year-old artist, who has previously worked on tracks by K-pop artists such as G-Dragon to BLACKPINK, has churned out a five-track EP featuring songs he produced and wrote himself.
“Put Up a Fight” is led by the title track “Folks” and includes the B-sides “Temporary,” “Sticks and Stones,” “Panic” and “Frown.”
In an interview with Bandwagon Asia, the alt-rock singer, who recently signed with 88rising and released his new EP in partnership with The Black Label, shared that “Put Up a Fight” can be seen as “more of a compilation rather than something with an overlying theme.”
He also talked about his music-making process, saying, “I do get a certain sense of empowerment from the fact that I create without boundaries since I only work with myself.”
“Recently though, I’ve been trying to write with my band as well and it’s been a great experience to have those close to me take part in the creative process,” he added.
LØREN recently performed at SXSW’s full-day music event Tiger Den, which was created to spotlight artists of the Asian diaspora.
LØREN is slated to perform at 88rising’s inaugural Head in the Clouds New York festival in May.
