A diehard fan of British singer Zayn Malik was over the moon after being offered to star in the music video for his latest single, “Love Like This.”
Key details: On July 18, actor and singer Grace Dumdaw, 24, took to TikTok to share their ecstatic reaction to being cast as the love interest of the 30-year-old former One Direction member.
POV: You went from being a deranged fan girl at age 15 to being Zayn’s lead love interest in his MV and getting posted on his IG,” the video’s onscreen text says.
A super fan: In the 25-second TikTok clip, Dumdaw also shared some of their tweets from 2014, some of which include, “I want Zayn Malik to sing me to oblivion” and “I would kill my family to touch Zayn Malik.”
How it happened: Dumdaw shared in the caption of their recent TikTok post that the opportunity to star in Malik’s music video was unexpected.
Fun fact, I didn’t even audition for this. The directors had been keeping an eye on me and reached out directly,” they wrote. “You never know who’s watching – dream big, work hard and put yourself out there.”
What people are saying: Several TikTok users showed support to Dumdaw in the comment section of their TikTok post, with one user writing, “The director reached out to you?! Girl, you living a Wattpad story.”
This is HUGE,” another user commented. “You deserve this so much and as somebody from [Myanmar] and knowing how little of us get opportunities like this, I couldn’t be prouder.”
Their background: Dumdaw was born in Myanmar and raised in Louisiana. According to their IMDB page, they are of Kachin descent.
Dumdaw has previously appeared in TV shows such as “Succession,” “And Just Like That…” and “The Blacklist.”

If this happened on campus, Stanford should issue a clear public update and specific safety actions.

Agree. People need facts and process, not silence. The school should confirm what is being investigated.

Also important to separate verified details from rumors so this does not spiral online.

The death threat part is extremely serious. Hoping law enforcement and campus security are already involved.

This is where official reporting and support channels need to be visible and easy to access.
