“The White Lotus” has named six new cast members for its third season set in Thailand.
Meet the cast: The new stars of “The White Lotus” include Leslie Bibb, Dom Hetrakul, Jason Isaacs, Michelle Monaghan, Parker Posey and Tayme Thapthimthong, as per Variety. They will join returning cast member Natasha Rothwell, who played Belinda in the first two seasons of the Emmy-winning HBO series.
Hetrakul is a Thai actor known for his roles in “Sniper 3,” “The King Maker,” “Bangkok Dangerous” and “The Outrage.” Thapthimthong, who is also Thai, is known for “Skin Trade,” “Mechanic: Resurrection” and “Farang.”
Location: The cast and crew will begin filming in Koh Samui, Phuket and Bangkok in February. HBO has partnered with the Tourism Authority of Thailand to promote the new season.
The third installment of the dark comedy anthology series was originally planned to be set in Japan. However, a huge tax incentive subsequently offered in Thailand reportedly swayed showrunner Mike White and his team to the Southeast Asian country.
About Season 3: HBO has yet to tease plot details of the show’s third season, but White previously suggested that it could be “a satirical and funny look at death and Eastern religion and spirituality.” According to Deadline, the characters will include a patriarch, a female corporate executive, an actress, a couple of mothers, a misfit and a yogi.
