After a few months of waiting, it has been confirmed that Malaysian actress Michelle Yeoh is finally getting her own standalone “Star Trek” spin-off on CBS All Access.
“Crazy Rich Asians” star Michelle Yeoh is reportedly in talks to reprise her role as Captain Emperor Georgiou in an untitled “Star Trek: Discovery” spin-off that is set to be released in CBS’ All Access streaming platform.
Gretchen J. Berg, one of the producers of “Star Trek: Discovery,” officially confirmed that Michelle Yeoh — who plays Captain Georgiou — will return in some form sometime in the near future.
While speaking at New York Comic Con (NYCC) on Saturday, Berg teased fans that they haven’t seen the last of Captain Georgiou yet.
Michelle Yeoh, who is set to star in “Star Trek: Discovery” on September 24, discussed how “very inspirational” her new role is to Asian women, especially young girls.
The 55-year-old Malaysian actress is set to take on the role of captain Philippa Georgiou, the commander of the USS Shenzhou starship in the series’ latest iteration.
