Asian American Advocates Team Up on Easter to Support FDNY EMS


Community advocate, Edwin Wong, President of The Forest Hills Asian Association (FHAA), Chinatown Ice Cream Factory, and the FDNY Phoenix Society teamed up on Easter Sunday, April 12, to give back to the FDNY EMS first responders in Queens.

Headed by FHAA President Edwin Wong, the event was dedicated in memory of his parents Thomas D. Wong who passed away on March 30 and Winnie C. Wong who passed in December. He asked for donations to be made in their memory to the FDNY EMS Help Fund.

Family of FDNY Medic Killed in Hit-and-Run Offers $25,000 Reward to Find Killer

Kevin Liang, a New York Fire Department Emergency Medical Technician (FDNY EMT), was laid to rest on Tuesday after being killed in a hit-and-run on September 30. His family is now offering a $25,000 reward for whoever can help identify the suspect.

The 27-year-old FDNY medic, a soon-to-be firefighter, was believed to have been struck by a dark-colored sedan as he was driving on the Kosciuszko Bridge in September at around 8 p.m.

Man Harasses Two Asian Women on NYC Train, Calls Them ‘Stupid Chink’

Two Asian women in New York City were on their way home on Thursday night when a man riding the same train told one of them to “shut the f*ck up you stupid chink”.

In a Facebook post published on the same night, Ariana Bian and her friend Court Nah were on the Long Island Rail Road service, and the harasser continued to antagonize the pair of women between the Woodside to Bayside stops.
