Japanese singer Rei of the K-pop girl group IVE will be taking a hiatus due to health concerns.
IVE’s agency Starship Entertainment made the announcement on April 11 through their official fan cafe website.
The agency said the singer sought medical attention after experiencing symptoms such as heart palpitations and stuffiness.

Rei recently felt abnormal symptoms such as heart palpitations and stuffiness, so she visited a hospital and received consultation and a checkup. She received the medical opinion that treatment and stability are needed. Based on the opinion from the expert medical institution and ample discussion with Rei, we decided to temporarily halt scheduled activities for the recovery of her health.

They added they would update fans of any changes in her health and are prioritizing her recovery.
Rei’s hiatus comes just after the release of IVE’s debut studio album “I’ve IVE,” which features the pre-release single “Kitsch” and title track “I AM.” It is the first album to be promoted and distributed through a new partnership with American label Columbia Records.
