Kakao Entertainment America has formed a partnership with American record label Columbia Records to co-manage K-pop girl group IVE and expand their presence in the North American market.
The collaboration will commence with the distribution, marketing and promotion of IVE‘s upcoming album, “I’ve IVE,” which drops on April 10, as well as the album’s prerelease single “Kitsch,” which will be released on Monday.
Joseph Chang, head of Kakao Entertainment America, expressed excitement about the partnership with Columbia Records, a subsidiary of Sony Music, in a recent announcement.

We’re thrilled to be embarking on IVE’s global journey with Columbia Records, a company with a rich history in pop music. This partnership holds significant meaning for us. By strengthening the production and distribution capabilities of our music and artists in North America, we look forward to increasing the global competitiveness of Kakao Entertainment’s music business.

This recent partnership comes on the heels of Kakao’s battle with South Korean agency HYBE to take over rival company SM Entertainment, home of many popular Korean acts such as Girls’ Generation, Aespa, Red Velvet, NCT and EXO
In addition to IVE, Kakao reportedly plans on working with Columbia Records to promote other K-pop stars, such as IU and Monsta X
Since their debut in 2021, IVE have released several hit songs, including “Eleven,” “Love Dive” and “After LIKE.”
The K-pop act, composed of Yujin, Wonyoung, Liz, Rei, Gaeul and Leeseo, have received multiple Golden Disc Awards, MAMA Awards and Melon Music Awards, among other accolades.
