A Los Angeles man arrested in connection with a woman’s dismembered torso located in a dumpster has been charged for the murder of his wife and in-laws.
Catch up: Samuel Haskell, 35, was taken into custody shortly after a transient man discovered the torse near the intersection of Ventura Boulevard and Rubio Avenue in Encino on Nov. 8. Investigators believe the remains belong to his 37-year-old wife, Mei Li Haskell, who has been missing along with her parents, Gaoshan Li, 72, and Yanxiang Wang, 64.
New details: Prosecutors on Monday said one of the laborers hired by Haskell to dispose black trash bags from his home in Tarzana on Nov. 7 found body parts and called 911. The workers returned the bags to Haskell, but they were gone by the time police arrived.

On the same day, someone reportedly photographed Haskell putting a trash bag into the dumpster, which was roughly five miles from his residence. Following his arrest, police found evidence consistent with a killing and dismemberment in his home, which he shared with his wife, in-laws and three children.
Charges: Haskell, the son of veteran Hollywood talent agent and film producer Samuel Haskell III, was formally charged Monday with three counts of murder, enhanced with a special circumstance of multiple murders. However, authorities have yet to identify the remains recovered, and Mei Li Haskell and her in-laws are still considered missing.
Haskell remains held on a $2 million bail. If convicted, he faces a life imprisonment sentence without the possibility of parole.
