Washington middle school student Rebecca Wu will have her artwork featured on Google's homepage for 24 hours as the winner of the national Doodle for Google competition.
Wu's artwork, titled “My Sweetest Memories,” celebrates her sisters. The Doodle showcases her sisters sitting beside her, holding a cup of hot chocolate, representing one of her cherished memories. In addition to the honor, Wu will receive a $30,000 college scholarship and a $50,000 technology package for her school or a chosen non-profit organization.
This year's theme was "I am grateful for..." The competition's judges included actor Noah Schnapp, author Brian Selznick, National Teacher of the Year Kurt Russell, and Google's Doodle Team Lead Jessica Yu.
