Hello, Everyone!

A recent report by the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) revealed that 98% of the entries in the FBI Secret Watchlist, approximately 1.47 million people, are Muslims.

The watchlist, created after 9/11, consolidates suspected terrorists and includes personal information like names and fingerprints. While the FBI claims no religious bias, CAIR's findings show that the top 50 most common names on the watchlist are all Muslim names, with over 350,000 entries including variations of 'Mohamed,' 'Ali,' or 'Mahmoud.' The incident involving Mayor Mohamed Khairullah being denied entry to the White House for an Eid-al-Fitr celebration has raised further concerns.

Attorney Gadeir Abbas, representing individuals in lawsuits against the government, argues that the FBI removes people from the watchlist only when faced with potential legal consequences.

  • A recent report from the Asian Business Empowerment Council and the Asian Community Fund reveals that Asian-owned businesses in Massachusetts experienced significant growth, with their payrolls rising from $1.2 billion to nearly $4 billion between 2002 and 2020. The research highlights the explosive growth of Asian-owned firms in the state, attributing it to immigrant roots and the propensity of Asian Americans to start their own businesses. However, Asian small business owners face challenges such as rising operating costs and difficulties finding qualified employees. They also have limited access to resources and contracts with anchor institutions. The report emphasizes the need for outreach, language equity, and support to help Asian-owned businesses thrive.

Do you like the new collaboration song from Jennie and The Weeknd?

I hate the lyrics, but I think Jennie herself fits on the song and I would like to see her do more with that kind of darker sound.
