“Sailor Moon Cosmos” will mark the conclusion of the current Sailor Moon remake, which began with the 2014 animated series “Sailor Moon Crystal.”
The remake was initially met with skepticism from fans of the original anime from the 1990s. However, “Sailor Moon Crystal” has since garnered fairly positive reviews on sites such as Rotten Tomatoes.
“Sailor Moon Cosmos,” which will be released as a two-part movie, is a direct sequel to the 2021 two-part film “Sailor Moon Eternal.” It is an adaptation of the final arc of the original Sailor Moon manga, with Part 1 scheduled for a June 9 release and Part 2 scheduled for a June 30 release in Japan.
