Randall Park is reportedly teaming up with acclaimed director and comedian Jordan Peele through the latter’s production company for an “untitled genre film” project.
Driving the news: Park is co-writing the movie with Michael Golamco at Imminent Collision, which is developing the project alongside Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions, according to entertainment journalist Jeff Sneider, who broke the news in his The InSneider newsletter. The “Fresh Off the Boat” star could also direct the film, the report said.
Sneider also shared the scoop in a post on his X account.

What’s it about: Sneider’s sources say the project would be a World War II movie about Japanese American soldiers. However, it could add a genre element instead of being a straight retelling of the story. The plot could also simply serve as an inspiration and a jumping point for the project’s future.
In the meantime: Park, who starred in Marvel’s “Ant-Man” sequels and “Wandavision,” made his directorial feature film debut in 2023’s “Shortcomings.” He also appeared as Dr. Stephen Shin in DC’s “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” and voiced Heiji Shindo, a supporting antagonist in the Netflix animation series “Blue Eye Samurai.”
