Japanese pizza restaurant chain unveils ‘Ice Cream Fondue Pizza’

A Japanese pizza restaurant chain is making headlines for its new menu item: “Ice Cream Fondue Pizza.”
About the pizza: On Friday, Aoki’s Pizza announced that its new “summer adventure pizza” will be available for purchase until Aug. 31.
Customers can dip slices of pizza with mushrooms, pepperoni and mozzarella cheese into an ice cream vessel at the center of the dish, thanks to its unique crust. Aoki Pizza uses vanilla Häagen-Dazs ice cream for the salty, sweet treat.
The pizza restaurant chain says that customers can eat the new pizza, which comes with maple syrup and chocolate sauce, in three different ways: dipping it in the ice cream, drizzling the maple syrup over the ice cream-pizza combo and drizzling the chocolate sauce over the ice-cream pizza combo.
Size and cost: The Ice Cream Fondue Pizza is only available in a medium size and costs 2,380 yen (approximately $17).
