Washington man accused of trying to invade Asian home pleads not guilty

The man accused of trailing an Asian couple to break into their home in Kent, Washington, has pleaded not guilty to his charges.
Background: The incident, which was caught on security video, occurred in the 23800 block of 135th Place SE at around 1 a.m. on Oct. 15. As the couple returns home from the casino, a hooded and masked man can be seen in the video rushing to follow them through the door with a gun pointed at them.
About the suspect: Alhusaine Drammeh, 18, the man believed to be in the video, was arrested on Oct. 26. He was charged with attempted burglary in the first degree, burglary in the first degree and unlawful imprisonment, which he all pleaded not guilty to on Monday.
Targeting Asians: Drammeh is believed to be working with accomplices, one of whom was seen later in the Oct. 15 footage. Prosecutors suspect the group targets those who are older and may not speak English.
Drammeh has also been linked to a second incident that occurred in the 12300 block of SE 204th Street on Oct. 16, which also involved an Asian family. The victims reported four to five armed and masked Black males entering their home at around 3 a.m., forcing everyone — including a 5-year-old boy — to lay prone on the floor before demanding money and jewelry.
Drammeh remains held on a $1 million bail. He is set to return to court on Nov. 27.
