A terrifying home security camera video captured a gun-wielding suspect attempting to invade the home of an Asian family in Kent, Washington, on Sunday at around 1 a.m.
Alarming incident: The Ring camera clip shows the male homeowner walking inside the home in the East Hill neighborhood, just off Southeast 240 Street. His wife, just several steps behind, is then seen rushing to the door after realizing someone is following them.
After going inside, she only manages to close the door partially. With the suspect’s hand and foot still wedged in the doorway, the woman holds her ground while her husband makes a final push to seal the door shut. The intruder is seen brandishing a firearm equipped with an extended magazine.
As the suspect is shown beating the camera with his gun, a second person can be seen approaching the scene.

A son’s account: The couple’s son, Jimmy Huynh, told Kiro7 that he was woken up by the commotion and found his parents bravely defending their home.
“The moment she got inside the house she did a 360 and leaned as hard as she could on the door and it didn’t close all the way,” Huynh said, describing the tense moment. “He had his hand in between the doorway and he also had a foot. Kind of like a stop.”
According to Huynh, his parents had returned from a night out at the Riverside Casino and the suspect may have followed them home.
Under investigation: This near-home invasion comes amid similar home invasions and robberies targeting Asian families in the south Seattle area in the past year.
The Kent Police Department, which is now in possession of the footage, has yet to identify the suspects in the video. Detectives have not ruled out potential links to the past attacks, including two similar incidents that are also under investigation.
