Vandal Epically Trolls a McDonald’s Billboard with Emojis

One of McDonald's latest “Good Times” billboards in the UK was comically altered to transmit a new message that looks more like harsh times.

A McDonald’s billboard in the UK that advertised the company’s Good Times ad campaign message was comically altered to transmit a new message that conveys harsh times.
McDonald’s recently launched an ad campaign using a series of emojis to appeal to millennials. However, their attempt to lure the positive attention of younger customers was thwarted when a vandal humorously added an additional puke emoji.
The idea of the new campaign was to communicate through emojis that a bad day ends with good times with a McDonald’s meal.
The message seemed simple enough until someone trolled one of McDonald’s billboards in Bristol and added a puking emoji, which changed the message to something like, “If life is bad, get McDonald’s, and then life will be worse.”

If this happened on campus, Stanford should issue a clear public update and specific safety actions.

Agree. People need facts and process, not silence. The school should confirm what is being investigated.

Also important to separate verified details from rumors so this does not spiral online.

The death threat part is extremely serious. Hoping law enforcement and campus security are already involved.

This is where official reporting and support channels need to be visible and easy to access.
