MISAMO, the first subunit of K-pop girl group TWICE, dropped their debut mini-album “Masterpiece” on Wednesday.
About the mini-album: “Masterpiece” includes seven songs in total: the title track “Do not touch” and B-sides “Behind the Curtain,” “Marshmallow,” “Funny Valentine,” “It’s not easy for you,” “Rewind you” and “Bouquet.”
JYP and all three MISAMO members — TWICE‘s Japanese members Mina, Sana and Momo — contributed lyrics to “Masterpiece.” JYP co-wrote “Do not touch,” Mina co-wrote “It’s not easy for you,” Sana co-wrote “Rewind you” and Momo co-wrote “Funny Valentine.”
Pre-releases: Three songs were revealed leading up to the mini-album’s release.
“Bouquet” dropped in January as part of the soundtrack for the Japanese drama series “Liaison: Children Heart Clinic.” Meanwhile, music videos for “Marshmallow” and “Do not touch” were released in June and earlier this month, respectively.
About TWICE: The JYP Entertainment act consists of nine members in total: Mina, Sana, Momo, Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Jihyo, Dahyun, Chaeyoung and Tzuyu.
They debuted in 2015 and are currently on their third world tour, “Ready to Be.” Prior to MISAMO’s debut, the girl group released their March mini-album, also titled “Ready to Be.” In May, they released their 10th Japanese single, “Hare Hare.”
