13 of the Best Asian Foods You Can Find at Trader Joe’s
Trader Joe’s is undeniably America’s favorite grocery store chain and a snack lover’s paradise.
From their brilliant use of puns on the chalkboard signs to the amazing selection of gluten-free, vegan foods, it’s a go-to stop for people of all ages and backgrounds.
And of course, TJ’s has its own line of frozen Asian dishes. While nothing will beat the taste of homemade or traditionally prepared dishes, if you’ve ever been a broke college student or struggling twenty-something with no Asian markets nearby, these Trader Joe’s frozen Asian dishes were always there to comfort our tummies.
With endless aisles of already-prepared, frozen goods, if there’s a Trader Joe’s nearby you really only need a microwave or hot plate to survive.
Here are some of the classic Asian foods you can find at Trader Joe’s if you haven’t already tried them out for yourselves.
Chicken & pork shumai
Chicken potstickers, a classic that has been repeatedly recommended to me by a coworker
Slightly-overpriced roasted seaweed… they also have wasabi flavor
Matcha & matcha latte powder
Don’t have the time or budget for Din Tai Fung? No worries, TJ’s has their own soup dumplings. You’re welcome.
Canned jackfruit in brine
Korean Bibimbap bowl
Veggie pad thai
Spicy Thai eggplant
Stir fry veggies
For those above the legal drinking age who are feeling a bit bougie, why not also pick up some Japanese whiskey while you’re at it?
And of course, the all-time favorite — TJ’s frozen mochis

Many people might not know this, but despite our large and loyal following which we are immensely grateful for, NextShark is still a small bootstrapped startup that runs on no outside funding or loans.
Everything you see today is built on the backs of warriors who have sacrificed opportunities to help give Asians all over the world a bigger voice.
However, we still face many trials and tribulations in our industry, from figuring out the most sustainable business model for independent media companies to facing the current COVID-19 pandemic decimating advertising revenues across the board.
We hope you consider making a contribution so we can continue to provide you with quality content that informs, educates and inspires the Asian community.
Even a $1 contribution goes a long way. Thank you for everyone’s support. We love you all and can’t appreciate you guys enough.
