25-year-old Vietnamese TikTok chef opens her first restaurant in Los Angeles

Vietnamese TikTok chef Tue Nguyen, 25, is set to make her official restaurant debut in Los Angeles. 
The upcoming restaurant: Nguyen’s restaurant Di Di — which means “let’s go” in Vietnamese — will be located at 755 N. La Cienega Boulevard. Partnering with H. Wood Group, an L.A.-based restaurant and nightlife group, Di Di will allow Nguyen to share her home cooking with customers. Inspired by Vietnamese culture and design, the restaurant is expected to seat 90. 
Di Di is slated to open in early July, with meals offered at approximately $75 per person. 
About Tue Nguyen: Best known for her cooking videos, Nguyen (@TwayDaBae) is an influencer with over 1 million followers on TikTok and Instagram. In addition to showcasing her culinary skills, Nguyen’s dishes and recipes also celebrate her Vietnamese culture. 
Some of the chef’s most popular TikTok videos include tutorials on making Vietnamese yogurt, Vietnamese coffee and Thit Kho (braised pork belly with quail eggs), all of which have amassed millions of views. 
Nguyen’s vision: A “culmination of all [her] experiences,” Di Di will house a number of Nguyen’s popular online recipes. One popular dish that foodies can expect to see is the chef’s honey-glazed shrimp dish. A dish Nguyen created during her time at culinary school, the dish kickstarted the chef’s confidence to pursue her dreams. 
The TikToker made sure to share the news with her followers on social media. 
In the video, Nguyen shares her journey with her viewers. Despite her parents’ wishes for her to enter the medical field, Nguyen pursued her “big vision” of entering the culinary field. “This is Di Di,” the chef states as she shows her audience a glimpse of her upcoming restaurant. “This is my next chapter.”
