‘The Tiger’s Apprentice’ trailer: Henry Golding, Michelle Yeoh, Sandra Oh, Lucy Liu star in animated fantasy flick

Paramount Plus has released the teaser trailer for the new animated film “The Tiger’s Apprentice” starring Henry Golding, Michelle Yeoh and Brandon Soo Hoo.
The teaser trailer: In the teaser, viewers meet Chinese American teenager Tom Lee (voiced by Soo Hoo), who discovers his role as a magical protector called a Guardian. With the guidance of a mythical tiger named Hu (Golding), Tom trains to confront the powerful and malevolent force Loo (Yeoh), who aims to use magic to destroy humanity. To defeat Loo, Tom must reunite 12 Zodiac animal warriors and master his newfound abilities.
About the film: “The Tiger’s Apprentice” is based on the 2003 novel of the same title by Laurence Yep. The story was initially chosen for a potential live-action adaptation by Cartoon Network in October 2008 before it was canceled. Paramount then picked it up for an animated film in 2019 with a targeted 2022 release. Due to pandemic delays, “The Tiger’s Apprentice” is now slated for release on the streaming platform on Feb. 2, 2024, in the U.S. The film’s availability in additional international Paramount Plus markets will be disclosed at a later date.
“The Tiger’s Apprentice,” a Paramount Plus original in association with Paramount Animation, was directed by Raman Hui and produced by Jane Startz, Sandra Rabins and Bob Persichetti, with Maryann Garger, Kane Lee and Carlos Baena serving as executive producers.
