Marvel Studios has released the first teaser trailer for “The Marvels,” starring Academy Award winner Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris, Iman Vellani and “Parasite” star Park Seo-joon.
The film centers around the trio of Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel (Larson), Monica Rambeau (Parris) and Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel (Vellani).
Taking place after the Disney+ series “Ms. Marvel,” the teaser trailer shows how the trio of heroes are interconnected as they keep swapping places with one another. While the almost two-minute video introduces the place-swapping as an inconvenience, it also includes a brief fight scene in which the trio use the teleporting to their advantage, which anime fans may recognize as reminiscent of the Itadori and Todo versus Hanami fight in “Jujutsu Kaisen.”
Park, whose role is yet to be officially announced, also makes his first appearance in the trailer, yelling and leading an unknown group into battle.
Marvel Studios recently gave an official synopsis of the film:

Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe. When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau. Together, this unlikely trio must team up and learn to work in concert to save the universe.

Nia DaCosta, who directed the 2021 film “Candyman,” will make her Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) debut and become the first Black woman to direct an MCU film.
DaCosta co-wrote the film’s screenplay with Megan McDonnell, Elissa Karasik and Zeb Wells.
Rounding out the cast are Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, as well as Saagar Shaikh, Zenoiba Shroff and Mohan Kapur reprising their roles as Kamala’s older brother and parents, respectively. Zawe Ashton will also star in a villain role, which has been kept under wraps.
“The Marvels” is set to hit theaters on Nov. 10. Check out the trailer below:
