A teaser trailer for the first official anime series dedicated to Bruce Lee has been released.
About the trailer: On Aug. 10, the official Bruce Lee YouTube channel, which was created by the martial arts legend’s daughter, Shannon Lee, posted the 33-second clip.
The new trailer was released just before the 50th anniversary of Lee’s iconic 1973 movie, “Enter the Dragon.” Exclusive 4K UHD screenings of the film were held in more than 650 theaters on Aug. 13 and Aug. 16.
About the series: Titled “House of Lee,” the Shannon Lee-led anime project is directed by Emily Yang and produced by content studio and creator platform Shibuya. Although Bruce Lee has been featured in various anime series and video games over the years, an anime series solely dedicated to him has never been created until now.
“House of Lee” will follow Lee as he assembles his Dragon Warriors to help stop the world from falling into darkness. The show is reportedly inspired by one of his most famous quotes: “Those who are unaware they are walking in darkness will never seek the light.”
“Anime is an amazing medium for telling a truly creative story where Bruce Lee can be Bruce Lee,” Shannon Lee told Deadline. “I’m so excited for the possibilities for action, fantasy, history, culture, and creativity within this medium.”
Release date: An official release date has yet to be revealed, but the series is likely to premiere sometime in 2024 or 2025.
