Netflix is Streaming All Studio Ghibli Movies Starting February, But Not in the U.S.

Studio Ghibli movies such as “Kiki’s Delivery Service,” “Spirited Away” and “Howl’s Moving Castle” are coming to Netflix starting Feb. 1, but the films will only be available in selected regions outside the United States.

The Studio Ghibli library will be available for subscribers in the Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America, according to Cartoon Brew. The library will be subtitled in 28 languages and dubbed in 20 languages.

A haunting hidden object was found in Studio Ghibli’s “Grave of the Fireflies” Japanese poster decades after the film was first released in theaters.

The discovery happened when fans re-visited some of Isao Takahata’s works after his passing in 2018, including the late director’s 1988 film “Grave of the Fireflies,” which is regarded as one of the saddest movies ever made, Kotaku reported.

The sequel to the theatrical 1988 masterpiece came 15 years later in the form of a short film titled “Mei and the Kittenbus,” which will be playing at the Ghibli Museum from November 1-30 in Mitaka, Japan.
