‘Berserk’ team to continue with six new chapters a year after creator’s death

  • A year after “Berserk” author Kentaro Miura’s passing, the editorial team at Young Animal magazine recently announced that the iconic manga will continue.
  • In a lengthy Twitter post, the “Berserk” team detailed conversations between Miura and one of his confidantes, fellow manga author Kouji Mori.
  • “[Miura] wondered, would anyone be surprised if I drew something like this? How about a character like this? Would this storyline be interesting?” wrote the staff.
  • The staff went on to discuss plans for the upcoming chapters, which would be penned by Mori.
  • “”From the next issue, we will first publish six chapters until the end of the “Fantasia Arc/Elf Island Chapter,” wrote the staff. “After this, we will start a new arc.”
  • In a concurrent statement, Mori wrote “I have a message and promise to everyone. I will recall the details as much as possible and tell the story.”

Kentaro Miura’s final ‘Berserk’ manga volume is set for US release

  • The final “Berserk” volume written by manga creator Kentaro Miura before his death will make its way to the U.S. this November.
  • “Berserk,” published by Dark Horse in the U.S., will be released in comic book stores on Nov. 9 and in bookstores on Nov. 22.
  • Miura died due to an acute aortic dissection on May 6, 2021. His death also left the story of “Berserk” unfinished.

The final “Berserk” volume that manga creator Kentaro Miura wrote before his death will be released in the U.S. this November.

Miura’s 33 years of commitment to “Berserk,” one of Japan’s longest-running manga, will come to an end with Volume 41.
