Parents sue Pennsylvania police, local prosecutors for fatal shooting of son Christian Hall


The parents of Christian Hall, the 19-year-old fatally shot by Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) in December 2020, have filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the agency and two prosecutors with the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office last Wednesday.

The suit, which was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, accuses PSP officials, Commissioner Robert Evanchick, Monroe County District Attorney David Christine and First Assistant District Attorney Michael Mancuso of protecting the officers that shot Hall by releasing misleading details about the incident.

Activist Ebony Janice Moore took to Instagram on Friday to highlight how an Asian woman used her “White privilege” in protecting a Black man from police during a courtroom meeting that erupted into a protest last week.

‘Severe Punishment’ of Human Rights Lawyer is China’s Best Achievement of 2016, Says Chief Justice

The jailing of defense lawyer Zhou Shifeng and his fellow human rights activists were among China’s top legal achievements in 2016, according to Chinese Supreme People’s Court Chief Justice Zhou Qiang.

In an annual work report submitted to the country’s rubber stamp legislature, Qiang commended the Chinese courts for the “severe punishment of the crime of endangering state security” on Sunday.
