Filipino singing sensation Marcelito Pomoy delivered a mesmerizing performance on “America’s Got Talent: The Champions.”
A spin-off of the singing reality show “America’s Got Talent,” the show features former participants from across both “AGT” and the “Got Talent” franchise worldwide.
A video clip of Filipino parents expressing pure joy while watching their talented daughter sing has touched the hearts of many on social media.
Initially posted on Twitter by 19-year-old Brianna Rubia, the video has been reposted on other platforms such as the Facebook group “subtle asian traits” where it gained massive traction.
“Crazy Rich Asians” director Jon M. Chu is now in talks to helm the movie that chronicles the story of Arnel Pineda, a Filipino singer and songwriter who became the lead singer of iconic American rock band Journey.
Warner Bros, the studio behind the film, is now in negotiation to license original Journey music for the movie. The studio also acquired to the 2012 documentary about Pineda’s rise to fame titled “Don’t Stop Believing: Everyman’s Journey,” according to Deadline.
