‘Barbie’ star Simu Liu shows off his official Ken doll

“Barbie” star Simu Liu has made his official debut as a Ken doll in an Instagram post.
On Monday, Liu shared a series of photos of his doll, which is seen dressed in a white and gold tracksuit with white shoes and thick black hair, on Instagram.
Liu’s Ken doll is part of Mattel’s most recent launch — a Barbie doll line inspired by Greta Gerwig’s upcoming “Barbie” film. The line-up depicts the movie’s cast members as their characters, making sure to include each character’s outfits from the film.
Liu summed up his reaction with one simple word: “Whoa.”
Many shared Liu’s excitement at the 34-year-old actor’s Ken doll transformation.
“Being a funko pop: basic. Being a Ken doll: iconic,” one user commented.
“10 years ago would you ever have thought that you’d be a Ken doll?! #representationmatters,” another user wrote.
“A win for Asian immigrants in America!! Simu, you are a star!” a different user shared.
Others expressed disappointment at the doll’s appearance, arguing that it bore no resemblance to Liu.
“I love the moment and what this means but who the F did they model this on??!! Zero resemblance,” one user wrote.
“No offense but it doesn’t look like u,” another user commented.
Mattel’s latest “Barbie” launch is now available in store and online.
The collection includes Margot Robbie’s Barbie, Ryan Gosling’s Ken, Liu’s Ken, the Dreamhouse replica and more.
Fans can look forward to “Barbie” in theaters starting July 21.
