Red Velvet and aespa’s collaboration, which was released on Wednesday, is the first in a series of forthcoming songs that are part of SM Entertainment’s annual holiday project.
This year’s album is titled “2022 Winter SMTOWN: SMCU PALACE” and will feature the agency’s roster of idols – 58 in total, according to reports – including BoA, Girls’ Generation, EXO, Super Junior, TVXQ, WayV, Kangta, SHINee and NCT.
The album will be released on Dec. 26, coinciding with a free online concert on Jan. 1, 2023, on the SMTOWN YouTube channel.

This is the first time Red Velvet and aespa have officially worked together on a music project, but Red Velvet members Seulgi and Wendy have previously collaborated with aespa members Karina and Winter as members of “female Avengers of K-pop” supergroup GOT (Girls on Top) the Beat.
Last month, Red Velvet released their comeback title track “Birthday,” a follow-up to their album “The Reve Festival 2022 – Feel My Rhythm” which was released in March. In July, aespa released their second mini-album “Girls.”
