Former NMIXX member Jinni signs with new agency 4 months after leaving JYP
Former NMIXX member Jinni has signed an exclusive contract with United Artist Production (UAP), according to a statement from Sublime Artist Agency.
While UAP is not a subsidiary of Sublime, the two agencies have agreed to a management collaboration deal for Jinni. Sublime is home to several K-pop artists, including Tiffany Young and Jackson Wang.
“We will provide unstinting support to UAP artist Jini in her global activities to help her display her full potential, and we are happy to bring synergies with her,” the statement said.
Jinni, whose real name is Choi Yoon-jin, debuted as a member of NMIXX under JYP Entertainment in February 2022.
The agency announced the abrupt termination of her exclusive contract with the agency only 10 months later, citing the reason for her departure as due to “personal reasons.”
Fans initially speculated that Jinni may have signed with YG Entertainment subsidiary The Black Label, which houses artists like Taeyang and Somi, which the entertainment agency denied.
After leaving NMIXX, Jinni opened a personal Instagram account in March 2023, garnering almost half the number of followers of NMIXX’s official Instagram account.
Additionally, UAP social media refers to the artist as “Jini,” having dropped the second “n” from her NMIXX stage name.
Meanwhile, NMIXX recently made a comeback with their mini-album “expérgo,” led by the title track “Love Me Like This.” NMIXX are slated to embark on a U.S. showcase tour in May.
