Netflix has unveiled a new trailer for its upcoming animated film “Nimona,” starring Chloë Grace Moretz, Riz Ahmed and Eugene Lee Yang.
Based on the award-winning webcomic by ND Stevenson, the film is set in a techno-medieval place known as The Kingdom, whose residents harbor a fear of mythical creatures.
“Nimona” follows the unlikely friendship between a disgraced knight named Ballister Boldheart (Ahmed) and a magical shapeshifter named Nimona (Moretz).
The film is directed by Nick Bruno and Troy Quane with a screenplay by Robert L. Baird and Lloyd Taylor. Stevenson serves as a co-producer alongside Karen Ryan, Julie Zackary and Roy Lee.
Additional cast members include Yang as the knight Ambrosius Goldenloin, Frances Conroy as The Director, Lorraine Toussaint as Queen Valerin, Beck Bennett as Sir Thoddeus Sureblade, Indya Moore as Alamzapam Davis, RuPaul Charles as Nate Knight, Julio Torres as Diego the Squire and Sarah Sherman as Coriander Cadaverish.

“Nimona” will premiere at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival in mid-June. It will be available for streaming on Netflix on June 30.
