Danielle Marsh of NewJeans has been cast as the voice of Ariel in the Korean-dubbed version of Disney’s upcoming live-action film, “The Little Mermaid.”
On May 12, Walt Disney Company Korea announced that Danielle would showcase her voice acting and singing skills in the film.
The announcement followed a cryptic poster featuring Korean actors Jung Sanghoon and Jung Youngjoo as Sebastian and Ursula, respectively, that was revealed by Disney Korea on May 2.

The poster features a white silhouette that teases the leading role.
Fans immediately guessed that Danielle would take on the role of Ariel, which was further solidified when a dubbed teaser trailer of the film featuring her voice circulated online.
The clip has since been removed by Disney.
Teasers for “Part of Your World,” one of the film’s songs that Danielle will sing in Korean, was also released on Disney Korea’s official YouTube and Instagram accounts.
“The Little Mermaid” will be released in South Korea on May 24. NewJeans fans can also look forward to a pre-release track slated for June and a new album sometime in July.
