A man arrested in connection with a deadly shooting at a massage parlor in Worcester, Massachusetts, has been ordered held without bail on Monday.
Allegations: Marcel Santos-Padgett, 31, is accused of shooting a woman in the head at Angies Bodywork Spa at 383 Pleasant St. at around 2 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day. Security video reportedly showed him coming into the woman’s “work area,” staying there for 30 minutes and leaving with a firearm in his hand.
Police were called to the spa at around 11:40 a.m. First responders tried to revive the unconscious woman, but to no avail.
Charge: Police arrested Santos-Padgett on Friday. He was charged with armed assault with intent to murder in his arraignment on Monday.
A judge ordered him held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing on Dec. 13. Records reportedly show that he was on probation for a conviction of weapons-related charges in connection with a home invasion in Worcester in 2021.
About the spa: Authorities have not identified the victim as of this writing. Angies, which describes itself as an Asian spa, remained close on Monday.
The business has left a sign on its door: “We know almost nothing about the case. Please contact the police officers for information and do not bother us. Thank you.”
