Filipino makeup brand goes viral with Jollibee-inspired eyeshadow palette

A makeup brand is quickly gaining popularity online for its unique Filipino food-inspired cosmetics.
About the brand: Filipinta Beauty, a “conceptual, maximalist brand that celebrates the Philippines,” has been posting on social media platforms such as Instagram since August 2019.
Over the past four years, the brand has uploaded over 500 posts about its miniature Filipino food lip balms, lumpia and ube eyeshadow palettes, banana ketchup lip gloss and more.
About the viral video: On July 19, Filipinta Beauty posted a video about a Jollibee-inspired eyeshadow palette. The unique palette, which features the Jollibee mascot with long eyelashes and red lipstick, includes shades named after the fast-food franchise’s other mascots, such as “The Champ,” “Hetty,” “Twirlie” and “Mr. Yum.”
Although the video, which has garnered over 260,000 views, was meant to be an April Fool’s joke, several Instagram users have begged the makeup brand to make the mock product a real item.
“NEEED,” one user commented, while another wrote, “That’s not Jollibee… that’s #JolliBae.”
Photo shoot: After the Jollibee-inspired eyeshadow video went viral, Filipinta Beauty posted another video on July 27 showcasing a photo shoot with the palette, Peach Mango Blush and Jollibee lip glosses in a french fries box.
