Japanese eyewear brand JINS has released a new collection in partnership with YouTuber Wesley Chan, one of the founding trio behind Wong Fu Productions.
The collaboration is part of the company’s influencer program called “JINS Designed By,” which “unlocks the potential of today’s innovators to express ideas.”
Chan founded Wong Fu Productions alongside Philip Wang and Ted Fu at the University of California, San Diego in 2003.
As of this writing, the channel has 3.2 million subscribers, while Chan commands over 200,000 followers on Instagram.

The collection, available this week, features a special edition of JINS Switch, which is essentially glasses-and-sunglasses-in-one.
The sunglasses plates are magnetic clip-on shades that easily snap onto the glasses, while a hook feature ensures stability.

“Enhance Your Evolution” (EYE) is the concept behind the collaboration, which started at the beginning of 2018.
“The ‘EYE’ frame’s metal construction and balanced proportions reflect Wesley’s personal style and taste for timeless design,” JINS said in a press release. “Beyond creating these exclusive frames, Wesley believes the collaboration is truly an opportunity to encourage a positive outlook on the many changes and challenges that life brings. Enhance your evolution.”

The eyeglasses come in “a sleek and timeless shape, matte black finish, and unique design element of negative space at the end pieces.”

For ultimate comfort, nose pads are made of silicone, while the material of the glasses is made from durable sheet metal.

Meanwhile, the sunglasses are made of TR-90, which are “extremely lightweight and flexible.”

For $200, the JINS x Wesley Chan EYE frame collection includes JINS x Wesley Chan collaboration frame, one Chrome JINS Switch plate, one Sapphire JINS Switch plate, Carrying Capsule, Leatherette Switch Plate Sleeve, and Limited Edition Microfiber Cleaning Cloth.
The collection is available at all JINS stores and online from Aug. 23.
