Season 2 of “Invincible” finally has an official trailer — and a release date.
Announcement: Prime Video unveiled the new trailer at San Diego Comic-Con, finally appeasing fans of the animated superhero spectacle after two years of teasers and secrecy.
About the show: Adapted from “The Walking Dead” creator Robert Kirkman’s comic book series of the same name, “Invincible” follows Mark Grayson, a teenage superhero known as Invincible who discovers that what he thought he knew about his life — particularly the details surrounding his father, the ultra-powerful superhero Omni-Man — were a lie. Season 2 will see Mark grappling with the devastating aftermath of having discovered the truth and forging his own identity in the wake of his father’s betrayal.
Returning and new cast: Returning cast members include Steven Yeun as the titular hero, Sandra Oh, J. K. Simmons, Gillian Jacobs, Zazie Beetz, Grey DeLisle, Chris Diamantopoulos, Walton Goggins, Jason Mantzoukas, Ross Marquand, Khary Payton, Zachary Quinto, Andrew Rannells, Kevin Michael Richardson and Seth Rogen.
New cast members announced for Season 2 include Chloe Bennet and Eric Bauza, alongside Sterling K. Brown, Tatiana Maslany, Tim Robinson, Phil Lamarr, Ben Schwartz and others.
The first half of Season 2 will be available to stream on Amazon Prime Video on Nov. 3, with the second slated for an early 2024 release. Each half will contain four episodes for an eight-episode season.
