“No matter how far away home is, IKEA invites Filipino expatriates and those curious to try a range of flavor-packed dishes (whether using a spoon and fork or with hands) such as beef pares, Filipino-style barbecue chicken, bistek Tagalog and leche flan,” the company previously stated.
The menu’s dishes will include chicken menudo, Filipino-style barbecue chicken and bistek Tagalog. Chicken menudo is a stew made with chicken, hot dogs, potatoes, carrots and bell peppers in a tomato-based sauce, while bistek Tagalog is a Filipino beef stew braised in citrus and soy sauce with onions and garlic.
Traditional sweet desserts, including buko pandan and leche flan, will also be available. Buko pandan is a popular Filipino fruit salad that is mainly loaded with coconut, pandan-flavored jelly and sweetened cream. Leche flan, which resembles a crème caramel and caramel custard, is made from eggs and milk with a layer of caramel sauce.
The special menu will be available at Ikea Dubai Festival City Mall, Ikea Jebel Ali Festival Plaza and Ikea Abu Dhabi YAS Island Restaurants starting at Dh25 (approximately $6.81), with desserts starting at Dh9 (approximately $2.45).
