A Filipino customer of a popular fruit/bubble tea brand took to social media to express his disgust after finding three small cockroaches in a beverage that he ordered.
In a Facebook post, Nico Yabut shared how he discovered the insects floating in the passion fruit tea he ordered from the Gong Cha outlet at Theatre Mall in Manila on Wednesday afternoon.
Everything seemed fine at first since the drink handed to him was properly sealed and had a wrapped straw, according to Yabut.
“The drink was really good,” he wrote.

Yabut was nearly finished with his drink when he moved the cup sleeve to check how much he had left. That’s when he found the tiny critters floating in the tea.
“This is absolutely disgusting,” he added.
Gong Cha Philippines, which Yabut tagged in his post, has since responded saying that they are investigating the matter and promised to “take appropriate action.”
In his post, Yabut also issued a warning for bubble tea lovers to be extra careful in checking their purchased drinks.
“Guys, please do check your orders before drinking/eating them… wouldn’t want this to happen to anyone else,” Yabut noted.
Gong Cha, the Taiwan-style drink shop franchise which originated in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, is a brand recognized around the world and has outlets in Macau, South Korea, Canada, the United States, the Philippines, Vietnam and many others.
