‘Fashion Santa’ Might be the Hottest Santa You’ve Ever Seen
First, there was Hipster Santa with his man bun and black-rimmed glasses — and now there’s Fashion Santa, who sports apparel from designers like Burberry, John Varvatos and Moncler.
For those who want their St. Nick trimmer, more fashionable and maybe even more handsome this holiday season, the Toronto Yorkdale Shopping Centre is where you’ll want to take your Santa photos this year.
Played by model Paul Mason for the second year in a row, Fashion Santa eschews the traditional red-velvet suit for designer duds — and judging by his fit frame, probably skips the milk and cookies. His white beard was grown out as a tribute to his mother, according to the Toronto Star.
“The beard became a success in fashion circles. I couldn’t help but see similarities between my white beard and Santa and thought that a high-end brand might want to play with the concept as an alternative to the traditional Santa,” Mason told the Star.
Fashion Santa is part of the Fashion Santa holiday campaign which sees $1 go to the SickKids Foundation, up to a maximum of $10,000, for every picture taken with him posted to social media with the hastag #YorkdaleFashionSanta.
“I’m bringing people some holiday joy and helping raise money for charity. What’s not to love?” Mason said.
