“Everything Everywhere All at Once” leads the 95th Academy Awards with 11 nominations in total.
Following the announcement of nominees on Tuesday, the film’s main cast has notably received major recognition, with international superstar Michelle Yeoh making history as the first actor who identifies as Asian to be nominated for a Best Actress Award at the Oscars.
Ke Huy Quan, who has won over 30 awards for his performance as Waymond Wang in the hit film, received a nod for Best Supporting Actor.
Yeoh and Quan both previously won Golden Globe Awards for their roles in the film. The co-stars are currently in the running for awards in this year’s British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Awards, which will be held on Feb. 19.
Stephanie Hsu and Jamie Lee Curtis also earned their first Oscar nominations and are both vying for Best Supporting Actress. Hong Chau of “The Whale” is also nominated for the category.
Meanwhile, filmmakers Daniel Scheinert and Daniel Kwan, known collectively as “the Daniels,” are nominated for Best Director.
The genre-defying, multiverse-hopping sci-fi hit is competing for Best Picture against the two highest-grossing films of the year: “Avatar: The Way of Water” and “Top Gun: Maverick.”
Other contenders in the category include “Triangle of Sadness,” “The Fabelmans,” ”Tár,” “Women Talking,” “Elvis,” “All Quiet on the Western Front” and “The Banshees of Inisherin.”
“Everything Everywhere” is also nominated for Best Original Song, Screenplay, Score, Costume Design and Editing.
This year’s Oscars is scheduled to be held at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood on March 12.
