South Korean rapper DAWN has signed with hip-hop label AT AREA.
AT AREA, founded by South Korean music producing and composing duo GroovyRoom, made the announcement on Monday.
“We are glad to introduce Dawn as our first new member of the year 2023. We have always had our eyes on Dawn. We will actively support his potential artistry to the fullest to quench his musical thirst,” the label said.
“I am happy to be with AT AREA,” DAWN wrote about the recent news. “I feel reassured that we have a deep connection with the goal of going forward as an artist. I want to make as much music as I want. I ask for the public’s interest in my music to come.”
DAWN also teased the update in an Instagram post on Thursday.
New place, new music. Coming soon.” his post’s caption states.
Prior to AT AREA, DAWN was operating independently following his and HyunA’s departure from PSY’s agency P Nation in August 2022.
The pair, who are speculated to be back together after publicly calling off their engagement in November 2022, first started dating in 2016 and made their relationship public in 2018. At the time, DAWN was a member of boy group PENTAGON while Hyuna was a soloist. Both artists left their label, Cube Entertainment, shortly after their relationship announcement.
DAWN’s most recent music to date is the single “Stupid Cool,” which was released in June 2022.
